Myrtle Cottage

Myrtle Cottage is a 200-year-old stone cottage in Uplyme, originally part of the village forge and sympathetically extended over the years. The sitting room has an inglenook fireplace with an electric stove, and bifold doors at the rear lead to a decked terrace with views over Uplyme, the church and the surrounding countryside.

Upstairs are the two bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, sharing a family bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower. A second bathroom, a shower room, is on the ground floor. The kitchen/diner has an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, American-style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and a hairdryer, with a Smart TV and WiFi in the sitting room for evenings in.

Steps lead down from the terrace to an enclosed rear garden, a quiet spot to sit with a book, with patio seating areas, tables and chairs for dining outdoors. A travel cot and highchair are provided, though stairgates do not fit due to the age of the property and the position of the windows, worth noting for families with young children.

Off-road parking is provided for 3 cars, and there's an electric vehicle charging point, though guests need to bring their own charging cable and specify in advance if they plan to use it. Myrtle Cottage does not accept pets and is no smoking throughout. The shop is 0.3 miles away and the pub 0.1 miles, both an easy walk from the door.
