Millwater Cottage

Millwater Cottage is a character cottage in the village of Dalwood, dating back to 1849 beside the River Cory. It sleeps 8 across three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of them on the ground floor, and can be booked alongside the adjoining Riverbank cottage for a larger group.

Two bedrooms are family rooms, each with a double and a single bed, and the third is a twin, all with views over the garden and countryside beyond. Low ceilings and beams run throughout, typical of a cottage this age, and the sitting room has an inglenook fireplace with a woodburning stove. A private gravelled drive and gate lead through to the garden and the entrance, which opens into the dining room.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and a hairdryer, plus a TV and WiFi. Electric central heating covers the cottage, and a supply of logs is available for the woodburning stove, with fuel, power, bed linen and towels included in the rent.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, up to a maximum of two. Off-road parking covers 3 cars, and the large enclosed garden has a lawn and picnic bench, though care is needed near the river and livestock in the adjoining fields. The cottage has low ceilings and steep stairs throughout, worth noting for anyone unsteady on stairs, and smoking is not permitted.
