Bridge Cottage

Bridge Cottage is a Grade II listed cottage dating to the 1750s in the village of Dalwood, arranged over two floors in a long-house style where many of the rooms interconnect. It sleeps 6 across three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The ground-floor king-size bedroom can be made up as a twin on request and has its own small sun-room, plus an inglenook fireplace that is no longer in use.

The ground floor also holds a wet room with a walk-in shower, the kitchen with an AGA for the colder months alongside an electric oven and hob, a utility room, dining room and a sitting room with a vaulted beamed ceiling and a working wood burning stove, with patio doors onto the garden. A separate staircase from the kitchen leads to the third bedroom, a double with an adjoining dressing area.

A second staircase, reached from inside the ground-floor bedroom, leads up to a further king-size bedroom. This bedroom and the double share a Jack-and-Jill shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC. Fuel and power for the wood burner, plus bed linen and towels, are included in the rent, and WiFi covers the cottage.

There are internal steps and level changes between rooms, low beams typical of the cottage's age, and steep, narrow staircases, so Bridge Cottage may not suit young children or anyone with limited mobility. The garden has a lawn, patio and open stream but is not enclosed, so children and dogs need supervising outside. Off-road parking is provided for 3 cars, and the village shop is 0.2 miles away with the pub 0.1 miles. Bridge Cottage takes one well-behaved dog, and smoking is not permitted.
