Maple

Maple is a detached lodge on the Stafford Moor site near Dolton, with a lake just 0.1 miles from the door and open countryside on every side. The ground floor holds an open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area, a double bedroom with an en-suite bath and heated towel rail, a twin bedroom, and a shower room, while a third double bedroom sits upstairs alongside a separate first-floor sitting room.

That upstairs sitting room opens onto a balcony with decking and furniture, looking out over the lake and surrounding countryside, a good spot for a quiet coffee before the day gets going. Downstairs, a non-enclosed front garden has its own patio and furniture for sitting out.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, and two TVs plus WiFi cover the lodge. Central heating runs throughout, with fuel and power included in the rent, and off-road parking is provided for 2 cars. Pleasure fishing on the site's lakes is included, though equipment is not provided.

One well-behaved dog is welcome at Maple, and around two miles of walking routes begin directly from the site for stretching legs, human or canine. Smoking is not permitted, and anglers must arrive before 4.30pm for equipment handling. The shop and pub are 3.2 miles away, with Great Torrington, Dartmoor and Exmoor all within reach for day trips.
