Holly overlooks the fishing lakes on the Stafford Moor site near Dolton, with around two miles of footpaths starting directly from the site for exploring on foot. Fishing on the lakes is included in the stay, using the site's own tackle facilities, though equipment for personal use is not provided.

The ground floor holds an open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area, a double bedroom with an en-suite bath, handheld shower and heated towel rail, a twin bedroom, and a separate shower room. A third double bedroom sits upstairs beside a first-floor sitting room that opens onto a balcony with decking and furniture over the water.

An electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher are fitted in the kitchen, and two TVs plus WiFi cover the lodge, with central heating throughout and fuel and power included in the rent. A non-enclosed front garden with a patio adds further outdoor space, and off-road parking is provided for 2 cars.

Holly only accepts 7-night stays between 1 April and 31 August, so plan bookings in that window around a full week rather than a short break. One well-behaved dog is welcome, smoking is not permitted, and anglers must arrive by 4.30pm to allow time for handling their equipment. The shop and pub are 3.2 miles away, with RHS Garden Rosemoor, Dartmoor and Exmoor all reachable for day trips.
