Little Gate Cottage

Little Gate Cottage is a semi-detached thatched cottage dating from the 17th century and Grade II listed, on the Dartmoor Way lane in North Bovey. The ground-floor sitting room has a wood burning stove set in a large inglenook fireplace, ancient beams and a window seat with valley views, next to a kitchen area. A low doorway with a 5'10" lintel leads down to the dining room.

Steep, winding stairs lead up to two bedrooms: a king-size double and a twin, sharing a bathroom with a bath, shower over, WC and basin. The cottage sleeps 4 across the two bedrooms and one bathroom.

The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, tumble dryer, washing machine and dishwasher, and the living space has a TV with DVD player, a phone and WiFi. Night storage heating works alongside the wood burning stove; the first basket of logs is free and further baskets are charged. A cot is available on request.

A long, narrow, wooded garden lies to one side of the cottage, down the lane and reached via 3 steps, with two paved seating areas looking across Easdon Down. It is not suitable for small children, people with limited mobility or the elderly. Off-road parking for one car is provided 40 metres down the lane, past the property.

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome, with a fee for the second dog. Smoking is not permitted. The Ring of Bells Inn is within walking distance, and stepping stones across the River Bovey are a short walk down the lane.
