Ingle Tor

Ingle Tor is a five-tier lodge sleeping six on the grounds of a five-star Devon estate, set within Dartmoor National Park near North Bovey. Arrival is via an external staircase into an open-plan kitchen and dining room fitted with an electric oven and hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher; a table for six anchors the space. The layout descends through the tiers: the lounge sits below the kitchen and leads through double doors to a large decked terrace with table and chairs, while the lowest floor has its own sheltered outdoor decking area off the third bedroom.

Each of the three bedrooms has its own en-suite: the two king-size rooms have a bath with shower over and WC, and the super-king zip-and-link room (convertible to twin on request) has a shower room with WC. A separate WC is also available. A utility room with washer-dryer sits between floors, and the lounge has a Smart TV and a gas flame-effect fire alongside sofas and double doors to the terrace.

The estate's shared facilities include an indoor swimming pool, spa, sauna, steam room, whirlpool, gym, tennis courts and a golf driving range; an 18-hole golf course, archery, fly fishing, clay pigeon shooting and children's activities such as a Kidszone and Crafting Barn can be booked in advance at additional cost. Two restaurants and a bar serve lodge guests, with the option to pre-order evening meals for delivery, though private hotel functions may on occasion limit access to the bar and restaurants. A BBQ is available April to October at an extra charge (£30 for up to three days, £50 for four to seven days, payable directly to the owner).

Parking is unallocated and on-site for two cars, and electric vehicle charging is available on the estate. Up to three dogs are welcome, provided they are at least six months old. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate are all available on request. The multi-tier layout involves several internal staircases, which is worth bearing in mind when planning a stay. Check-in is from 16:00 and departure by 10:00.
