Kitty Jay

Kitty Jay is a three-bedroom lodge sleeping six on a five-star estate near North Bovey, within Dartmoor National Park. Entered from the rear, the lodge opens into an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space with high beamed ceilings. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster and kettle, with a dining table alongside. The living area has sofas, a Smart TV and a gas flame-effect fire, and a separate WC sits near the entrance.

Each of the three bedrooms has its own en-suite with WC. Upstairs, the king-size room has a bath, separate shower and WC. On the lower floor, a super-king zip-and-link bedroom, convertible to twin on request, has an en-suite with shower-over-bath and WC, while the third bedroom has double doors opening to a small decked area and an en-suite shower room and WC. A utility room with washer/dryer, detergent, iron and ironing board completes the lower level. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available on request, and up to three dogs are welcome provided they are at least six months old.

From the lounge, double doors lead to a rear decked balcony with outdoor seating and estate views. A BBQ area is available from April to October at an additional charge payable to the owner (£30 for up to three days, £50 for four to seven days). Two unallocated parking spaces are available on site, and electric vehicle charging is also provided on the estate.

Estate facilities include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, whirlpool, gym, tennis courts, pétanque, croquet and children's swings and climbing frames. Two restaurants and a bar serve lodge guests, with evening meals available for pre-order and delivery to the lodge. Additional activities such as spa treatments, archery, fly fishing, clay pigeon shooting and 4x4 driving can be booked in advance at extra cost. The bar, lounges and restaurants may be unavailable during private hotel functions, and specific meal services are restricted on certain dates over Christmas and New Year.
