Kestrel

Kestrel is one of five elevated beach chalets right on Branscombe Beach, reached by carrying belongings along the shingle beach and up an external, open-tread staircase, which may not suit guests with limited mobility. It sleeps 4 across two bedrooms and looks out over the English Channel.

A king-size and a double bedroom share a bathroom with a bath, a shower over the bath, basin, heated towel rail and WC. The living/dining room opens onto a decked balcony with furniture and direct access to the shingle beach, with uninterrupted sea views.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a fridge with an icebox and a dishwasher, and there's a Smart TV and WiFi, though signal can be affected by the weather at this beachfront spot. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent.

A public car park is a short walk away; guests need to send their car registration to the housekeeper two weeks before arrival for free parking, or daily charges apply, and the car park has a 2.2-metre height restriction with no vehicular access to the chalet. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, smoking is not permitted, and there are no child facilities on site. The shop is 0.8 miles away and the pub 0.4 miles.
