Higher Weddicott Barn

Higher Weddicott Barn is a converted granite barn dating from the 1700s, on the outskirts of Chagford within Dartmoor National Park, close to the river Teign. The barn has its own private spring water supply and sleeps 8 across four en-suite bedrooms, with underfloor heating on the ground floor.

A ground-floor bedroom has a king-size bed and en suite with walk-in shower, basin and WC. Upstairs, the twin room known as Meldon has two 4-foot beds, a TV and its own en-suite bathroom; Haytor has a king-size bed, a TV and an en suite with bath and shower over; and the master bedroom has a sleigh-style king-size bed, a seating area with TV, and an en suite with a freestanding bath and walk-in shower.

The open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area has an electric oven, halogen hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and an electric fire, and a separate utility room holds the washing machine and tumble dryer. Four TVs, a DVD player and WiFi are provided, and oil central heating covers the barn alongside the ground-floor underfloor heating.

One well-behaved dog is welcome, kept on a lead, as the garden is not enclosed and the barn sits on a working farm with grazing livestock in the surrounding fields. Outside there's a non-enclosed patio with outdoor seating and a gas barbecue, off-road parking for four cars, and an exterior plug for EV charging, available for an additional fee arranged with the owner. Short breaks need a minimum of three nights, and smoking is not permitted.
