Highdown

Highdown is a detached, single-storey cottage on a slope above Bigbury-on-Sea, close to Challaborough and a short stroll from the South West Coast Path and Bigbury Beach. The whole cottage is on the ground floor, and a south-facing conservatory has sea views, a good spot for a summer breakfast in the sun.

There are three bedrooms, a double and two twins, two of them with sea views across the bay, all sharing one bathroom with a bath, shower over, basin and WC. The sitting room has an open fire for cosy evenings, and the kitchen has a dining area with room for six to eat comfortably, along with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher.

Outside, a private, enclosed, wrap-around garden has plenty of lawn for ball games and furniture for relaxing or dining alfresco. Two small to medium well-behaved dogs are welcome. Off-road parking is provided for 3 cars, right by the cottage.

The property only accepts Friday or Saturday check-ins, and mobile phone coverage can be intermittent in this coastal spot. Smoking is not permitted, and the shop is 2 miles away with the pub 1 mile away, both an easy drive from the cottage.
