Quarterdeck

Quarterdeck sits above Bigbury-on-Sea, a short walk from Challaborough, with a south-facing view across Bigbury Bay from Bolt Tail to Stoke Point. The sitting room and all three bedrooms share this sea view, and it's a five-minute walk down a quiet, no-through road to the South West Coast Path and Bigbury Beach.

Everything is on one level: a double, a twin and a single bedroom sit off the hallway, along with a bathroom with a bath, shower over and basin, plus a separate WC. Although the cottage is equipped for 5 people, it's worth knowing the sitting room has two sofas rather than an extra armchair, so it best suits a group of 4.

The open-plan sitting room has a dining area and a multi-fuel stove, backed up by electric storage heaters, with coal provided but not kindling or logs. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher, and there's a Smart TV with Freeview. A highchair is available, though guests need to bring their own travel cot.

Outside, the enclosed lawned garden has a picnic table and a croquet set, with the same sea views. Off-road parking is provided for 2 cars. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome, though not in the bedrooms, and the cottage is no smoking throughout.
