Fawley Cottage

Fawley Cottage sits right in the centre of Beer, a working fishing village near Seaton on Devon's East Devon coast. The cottage sleeps six across three floors, with a king-size bedroom, a double overlooking the rear garden, and a twin room tucked into the eaves on the top floor. The sloping ceilings and restricted head height in that top room are worth noting before booking for taller guests.

One bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC serves all three bedrooms. Downstairs, a sitting room with sofas and a gas fire leads through to a kitchen-diner fitted with an electric oven, gas hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A second fridge freezer in the courtyard shed is handy for longer stays, and the dining table comfortably seats the full party of six.

Families are well catered for: a travel cot and highchair are available, and one dog is welcome, though additional charges may apply. Outside, a paved courtyard at the rear has a dining table and chairs for eating outside, with garden steps rising to a second level with a stoned area, summer house and bench. The whole outdoor space is enclosed. Private off-road parking accommodates one car, or two small cars.

The beach, a pub and a village shop are all within 500 metres. Beer's seafront suits rock pooling and fossil hunting, and the village has independent shops and restaurants focused on local seafood. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure by 10:00. Please bring your own beach towels.
