Eventide Instow

Set in a quiet cul-de-sac in Instow, this four-bedroom coastal home sleeps eight with all bedrooms arranged on the ground floor and the main living area above to capture the coastal outlook. Both king-size rooms have en-suite shower rooms with WCs; the ground floor also includes a family bathroom with a freestanding bath, separate shower and WC. The zip-and-link twin converts to a super-king on request at the time of booking.

The open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting room upstairs is lit by large windows and skylights, with bi-folding doors leading onto a decked balcony with seating. The kitchen includes an electric double oven, induction hob, combi microwave, large larder fridge, separate freezer, wine cooler and a washer/dryer. A breakfast bar on the island unit provides additional seating alongside a dining table large enough for all eight guests.

A decked bridge from the half-landing connects to a rear lawn and patio with garden furniture and a purpose-built games room housing a games table. External metal steps descend to a lower courtyard where a private hot tub sits beside an outdoor hot shower, useful for rinsing sandy feet or washing down dogs after the beach. Integral storage at the front suits bikes, surfboards or pushchairs. Off-road parking for four cars is included, along with an electric vehicle charging point at no extra charge. Up to two dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply.

The sandy beach is just over half a mile away along a level seafront walk that also passes a pub, deli and cafe. The traffic-free Tarka Trail runs through the village for walking and cycling, and a summer passenger ferry crosses to Appledore. Travel cot, highchair and stair gate are all available on request.
