Driftwood - Hartland

Driftwood is a two-bedroom cottage on the Hartland Heritage Coast in North Devon, sleeping four adults across a king-size and a double bedroom. New for 2026, it sits in a rural setting with panoramic countryside views and enclosed gardens to both the front and rear. Private off-street parking for two cars is included, and two dogs are welcome, with an outside tap provided for cleaning boots and muddy paws after walks.

The cottage is set mainly on one level. The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area is arranged around a wood burner and a Smart TV, with two steps up to the kitchen and dining section. Practical appliances cover an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, air fryer, Nespresso pod machine and a washer/dryer. A family shower room completes the layout. Travel cot and highchair are available on request. Note that logs for the wood burner are not included in the booking.

Outside, the enclosed gardens have outdoor seating and a charcoal BBQ, well placed for meals in the open air and for taking in dark skies away from light pollution. A pub and shop are roughly two miles away and the nearest beach is around four miles. The South West Coast Path is accessible on foot across adjoining fields, approximately ten minutes from the door, with cliff-top walking and sea views towards Lundy Island.

Hartland village itself has three pubs, a coffee shop, a post office and a convenience store, as well as a community of local artists. Hartland Quay, known for its rock formations and Atlantic waves, makes for a short excursion, and Hartland Abbey with its woodland walks and gardens offers an alternative day out. The cottage sits roughly halfway between Bideford and Bude, giving practical access to both Devon and Cornwall.
