Dove Cottage

Dove Cottage sits high on a hill on the edge of Dittisham, a village on the River Dart around 3.5 miles from Dartmouth, with views over the estuary from most of the house. Steps lead down to the front door and a sitting room whose front wall of windows opens onto the patio, drawing the view and the outside in.

A wood burning stove warms the sitting room on cooler days, and the kitchen is fitted with a traditional Aga, alongside a microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. A dining area with a large table sits just off the kitchen.

A twin bedroom sits on the ground floor, and the other three bedrooms are upstairs, all en suite with estuary views; one of the doubles opens onto its own balcony. The house sleeps 8 across the four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Outside, a wide patio runs the width of the house for meals outdoors, and a steep path winds down through the garden to a small garden room and two ponds with lily pads, so the property does not accept children under 7 except babes in arms. Off-road parking is provided for three cars, no pets are allowed, and electric vehicle charging from the house supply is prohibited. A pub is under a mile away, down through the village to the quay.
