19 Above Town

19 Above Town is a four-storey house in the heart of Dartmouth, with the open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area on the ground floor opening onto a balcony with decking and furniture. The dining table seats 8, and the sitting area has a TV and WiFi for evenings in.

Two double bedrooms sit on the first floor, each with its own basin and walk-in shower and a feature fireplace, plus a cloakroom on that level. The second floor has a further double and a twin bedroom, and the house has a second cloakroom too. Head height on the second floor is low, so take care if anyone in your group is tall. A shower room on the lower ground floor, alongside the utility, completes the layout: three shower cubicles in all and no bath.

The kitchen runs on an electric oven, gas hob and microwave, with a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher and a lower-ground-floor utility, with central heating. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent. Dogs are welcome at 19 Above Town; check the limit when you book. Smoking is not permitted.

The house sits in Above Town, reached along a steep and narrow access road with steps down to the town centre, so it suits guests happy with an uphill walk home. A parking permit covers an unallocated space in the Mayors Avenue car park, a ten-minute walk from the house; during Regatta week it is valid only at the Park and Ride. Shop and pub are both under half a mile away, and the property is unsuitable for children under 5 and takes a maximum of 6 adults.
