Butterwell Barn

Butterwell Barn is a converted 19th-century Victorian barn in a rural spot around a 10-minute drive from Dartmouth waterfront and the Start Bay coastline. High vaulted ceilings, oak beams and stonework carry through the reverse-level layout, which sleeps eight across four en-suite bedrooms, all on the ground floor.

Two 'master' rooms sit at either end of the barn with super king-size beds and en-suite baths with a rainhead shower over, a hand-held shower, a wash-hand basin, a cabinet and a heated towel rail. The other two bedrooms have zip-and-link super king-size beds that split into 3-foot singles on request, each with an en-suite shower room and a large walk-in shower.

Upstairs, the first-floor living, dining and kitchen area is large enough for entertaining, with a Rangemaster cooker, marble worktops, three double settees and a wall-mounted TV. A utility area off the kitchen has a washing machine, tumble dryer and an integrated dishwasher, alongside an American fridge-freezer.

Outside there is parking for four cars and two EV chargers, plus a fully enclosed stone terrace with a picnic table, sun loungers and a fire pit that doubles as a charcoal barbecue or pizza oven. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome, but must stay in the first-floor living area and are not permitted in the bedrooms. Mobile signal is limited, though wifi is available, and the barn is strictly no smoking.
