Beer Lace Shop

One of the oldest buildings in Beer, this four-bedroom cottage sleeps eight and carries original detail that a newer build cannot replicate. Exposed wooden beams, a feature stone wall and an inglenook fireplace with a working wood burner give the living room real character, while big plush sofas keep it comfortable for a family or group of friends. The kitchen, extended and refurbished to a high standard, provides extensive work surfaces, a double oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Bedrooms are spread across the first and second floors. The first floor holds one double and one twin, both with window seats looking down over the village street, along with a family bathroom featuring a panelled bath and shower over, and a separate WC. The second floor adds a further double, a second twin and a newly fitted bathroom. All four bedrooms are reached by stairs, so the layout is worth noting for guests with limited mobility.

Outside, a landscaped rear garden has a lawn and large patio equipped with a gas BBQ, rattan dining furniture, deckchairs, a bench and a parasol. The garden is enclosed, though access is shared. Parking is not included in the rental: a permit for one car costs £15 and covers a car park approximately 200 metres away. Mobile signal is variable throughout the property.

The shingle bay is around 300 metres from the cottage, where a working fishing fleet still lands fresh catch daily and mackerel fishing trips run in summer. The South West Coast Path is easily reachable on foot. Up to three dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply.
