Three-bedroom Northleigh farm cottage with a ground-floor twin room

Battens is one of three cottages converted from traditional Devon barns on a small mixed farm raising beef and free-range poultry, in the hamlet of Northleigh, deep in the Coly Valley about 4 miles from Colyton. It sleeps 6 across three bedrooms and can be booked together with The Linney and The Shippen for a combined stay of 14.

A front door from the courtyard leads into an open-plan living space with a seating area, a dining area and a well-equipped kitchen, plus glazed doors out to a patio. On the same level is a twin bedroom with its own en-suite WC.

Upstairs are two further bedrooms, a double and a twin, sharing a family bathroom, and a cot and highchair are available on request. A shared laundry room has a washing machine and tumble dryer, and an outdoor games barn is shared with the other two cottages.

The coastal villages of Beer, Sidmouth and Branscombe are within reach for day trips from the farm.

Off-road parking is provided for up to 2 cars, and there's a barbecue on the patio. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, and the cottage is no smoking throughout. The usual minimum stay is 3 nights, though during the peak summer season bookings must run for a full 7 nights, Saturday to Saturday.
