8 The Quay

Right on the waterfront in Appledore, this three-bedroom cottage sits directly on the quay with estuary views from the front. The semi-open-plan ground floor combines kitchen, dining area and lounge in one connected space, centred on a large dining table and a wood burner supplied with an initial basket of logs. The kitchen comes with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer, and a wet room with shower and WC completes the ground floor.

Upstairs are three bedrooms: two with king-size beds and one family room with a double and a single bed. One king-size room has an en-suite shower room and WC, giving the cottage two shower rooms in total. A Smart TV and DVD player in the lounge, a portable pool table, board games and books cover indoor entertainment for a range of ages.

The cottage has two separate outdoor areas. At the front, a gated enclosed courtyard faces the quay; at the back of the house there is an additional enclosed patio courtyard. Shops, cafes and pubs are all within 100 metres of the front door. There is no private parking; guests use public pay-and-display car parks and parking on the Quay.

Up to two dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure is before 10:00. The mix of waterside position, ground-floor shower room and compact outdoor spaces makes this a practical base for time spent on the water or exploring the village on foot.
