Yar Tor

Yar Tor is a single-storey wood-panelled pod in the grounds of Langstone Manor Holiday Park, close to Tavistock on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Everything is arranged in one open studio-style layout for two guests, with the double bed set alongside a sitting area with an L-shaped sofa and a dining table for two.

There's no en-suite bathroom: a cloakroom off the studio has a basin, heated towel rail and WC, and a communal shower block is a short walk away. The kitchenette runs to a microwave and fridge only, so guests bring their own cutlery, crockery and cooking equipment, along with their own towels and tea towels. Bed linen, fuel and power are included in the rent.

Outside, the private patio has furniture and a built-in barbecue, a good spot for an evening meal under the sky. Parking is on site, and WiFi is available at an extra cost. The wider holiday park has a restaurant in the manor house, a bar, a shop and a children's playground, plus fresh baguettes, croissants and pains au chocolat that can be ordered for next-day delivery.

No pets are allowed at Yar Tor and smoking is not permitted. The nearest shop is 3.1 miles away and the nearest pub 2.4 miles, with Tavistock itself a short drive further on.
