Kes Tor

Kes Tor is one of the Moortown Pods within the grounds of Langstone Manor Holiday Park, on the south-west edge of Dartmoor National Park near Tavistock. The single-storey pod sleeps 2 in an open-plan studio finished with wood panelling, set in a sheltered wooded valley within the park's grounds. Dartmoor's open moorland and the nearby Lydford Gorge are within easy reach for day trips.

Inside, the studio combines a double bed, a dining area and a sitting space, with a microwave and fridge for light meals and a dining table for breakfast before heading out to the moors. A separate cloakroom holds a basin, heated towel rail and WC, but there is no bathroom in the pod itself; guests use a communal shower block elsewhere on the park.

Outside, a private patio has outdoor furniture and a built-in barbecue for alfresco meals, and there's on-site parking right by the pod. Underfloor heating and power are included in the rent, and the wider holiday park has a restaurant, bar, shop and children's playground. Tavistock itself is a short drive away, with a swimming pool, waterslides and a cinema alongside its market-town shops.

One well-behaved dog is welcome, though pets should not be left unattended in the pod. Guests bring their own towels, tea towels and cooking equipment beyond the microwave and fridge, and WiFi costs extra. The nearest shop is 3.1 miles away and the pub 2.4 miles, and smoking isn't permitted inside.
