Buster Barn

Buster Barn is a detached, single-storey granite barn at the end of a private drive in the hamlet of Sampford Spiney, near Tavistock, close to the open moor with Crip Tor and Ingra Tor both within reach on foot. The open-plan living area has an oak-fitted kitchen, a dining area and a sofa bed that converts to a double for extra sleeping, with glazed double doors opening onto the courtyard garden.

The king-size bedroom is set apart from the living space and has a large en-suite bathroom. Outside, an enclosed courtyard holds a table and chairs, a barbecue and a netted ornamental pond, with a small bridge leading to a sloping hillside garden and arbour looking out over the surrounding tors.

A gravelled path from the parking area leads to five uneven granite steps at the entrance, with an alternative route across the gravelled courtyard; the owner notes this isn't suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The kitchen has a microwave, fridge-freezer, gas hob, electric oven and washer-dryer, with a TV, DVD player, WiFi and a landline phone, though the WiFi can't support multiple devices at once.

Buster Barn takes up to three well-behaved dogs, and a cot and highchair are available on request. Off-road parking fits two cars, changeovers run on Fridays only, and smoking isn't permitted. Tavistock's indoor pool, cinema, shops and restaurants are within an easy drive.
