Woodpecker Lodge

Woodpecker Lodge is a single-storey lodge in the parish of Highampton, about 2.6 miles from Sheepwash in Devon. It sleeps 4 across two bedrooms, a king-size with an en-suite shower room and a twin, plus a second bathroom with a bath, shower over, basin and WC.

The open-plan living space has a kitchen with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher, plus a sitting area with an electric fire and a TV with Freeview. Central heating and the electric fire keep the lodge warm, and fuel and power are included in the rent.

Outside there's decking with furniture overlooking the nearby lake, and off-road parking is available. Steps lead up to the lodge, so it's worth planning around if anyone in your group has limited mobility. Woodpecker Lodge can also be booked together with two neighbouring lodges, sleeping up to 10 guests across the three.

Woodpecker Lodge takes two well-behaved dogs. Smoking is not permitted, and the shop is 2.5 miles away with the pub 1.1 miles from the door.

Sheepwash itself has a shop and a traditional pub around the village square, and sits within the Tarka Trail country for walking along the River Torridge. Great Torrington is 9 miles away, with the RHS Garden Rosemoor and Dartmoor National Park about 20 minutes' drive.
