The Milking Parlour

The Milking Parlour is a thatched barn conversion on a working conservation farm in the village of Highampton, Devon. It sleeps 4 across two ground-floor bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, both with TV and DVD player.

A ground-floor wet room with a walk-in shower, two basins and a WC serves both bedrooms, alongside a kitchen and a conservatory used as a breakfast area. Upstairs, reached by an oak staircase, is a first-floor dining and sitting room with a woodburning stove and views down to the kitchen and conservatory.

The kitchen is fitted with an electric double oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge with a freezer compartment, dishwasher and washing machine. A TV and WiFi are provided, along with a selection of books and games, and oil-fired underfloor heating runs throughout the property.

Outside, a patio has furniture and a gas barbecue. Off-road parking is provided for 2 cars, plus an electric car charging point available at an extra cost. The farm has livestock, a lake, ponds and ditches, and there are 10 steps from the car park up to the property.

No pets are allowed and the cottage is no smoking throughout. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am. Bookings run to a minimum of 7 nights between May and October, with only Saturday check-ins available at peak times; shorter breaks are taken in winter. The shop is about 2.6 miles away and the pub around 1.2 miles.
