Watermouth Castle, Penn-Curzon Apartment

Penn-Curzon Apartment is a first-floor apartment inside the Watermouth Castle Estate in Berrynarbor, about 3.2 miles from Ilfracombe. It sleeps 6 across three bedrooms: a double, a four-poster twin, and a twin suited to a child, sharing one bathroom with a bath and shower over.

The open-plan living space combines the kitchen, dining and sitting areas, with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster for cooking, plus a TV and WiFi. Electric storage heaters cover the apartment, and laundry runs through a shared, coin-operated washing machine and tumble dryer in an external utility room. Guests should bring their own beach or pool towels alongside the linen provided.

The apartment interconnects with the neighbouring Clock Tower Apartment, which can be locked or unlocked on request for group bookings, and sits above the castle's Music Room, so guests may hear the De-Cap organ between 10am and 3pm. The estate's seasonal indoor heated swimming pool measures 10m by 4m and is open from 8.30am to 5pm, with free entry to the Watermouth Castle family theme park included.

Off-road parking is provided for 1 car, with an additional free car park nearby, and a shared patio with garden furniture opens onto 50 acres of grounds with a lake and pond guests should take care around. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, and a cot, highchairs and a Z-bed for an extra child can be arranged on request. The apartment is no smoking, doesn't accept one-night bookings, and check-in runs from 4pm with check-out by 10am. The shop is 1.7 miles away, the pub 0.8 miles, and the beach 0.5 miles.
