Lakeside lodge near Bradworthy with on-site fishing ponds

This single-storey lodge sits in a quiet rural spot on the Devon/Cornwall border, part of a small complex of three properties set beside two fishing ponds. Bradworthy is a short walk away and has a shop, pub and cafe for everyday essentials.

Inside, an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area forms the main living space, with a wood burner (an initial supply of logs is included) and views over the lake from the eating area. The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, and wifi is included throughout the stay.

Both bedrooms and the bathroom are on the ground floor, with the double and twin rooms sharing a single bathroom fitted with a shower over the bath and a WC. Outside, an enclosed, gated decked balcony leads down steps to the lake, where guests can fish using barbless hooks; the larger pond holds carp and tench, while the smaller pond is left for wildlife. Ample off-road parking is available on site, along with a woodland walk.

Up to two dogs are welcome, with additional charges applying. Towels are not supplied, so guests should bring their own, and a travel cot is available for younger visitors. The property is decorated for Christmas over the festive period, and the pub and shop are within walking distance for everyday essentials during the stay.
