Waldon Valley Lodges - Beech

This detached lodge sits on the site of a former working quarry near Bradworthy, part of a small complex of three properties arranged around two ponds. It suits couples, families or small groups looking for a quiet base, with the village pub and a shop within walking distance for an evening drink or essentials.

Inside, an open-plan living space brings together the kitchen, dining and lounge areas. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. The lounge is warmed by a wood burner, with the first basket of logs included, and there's a smart TV and stereo. Two bedrooms, one double and one twin, sleep four, with a folding bed available on request for an extra person. The single bathroom has a shower over the bath and a WC.

Outside, an enclosed decked balcony leads down towards the ponds, one of which is well stocked with carp and tench and open for fishing with barbless hooks only, while the smaller pond serves as a wildlife habitat. There's ample off-road parking on site and a woodland walk within the grounds.

Wi-Fi is included, and a travel cot and highchair are available for younger visitors. Two dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply. Towels are not provided, so guests should bring their own. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out before 10am.
