Truffle Cottage

Truffle Cottage sits within walking distance of the harbour in Brixham, a working fishing town on Devon's English Riviera coast. The front door opens straight into the lounge, where an open fire set in the original exposed-brick fireplace, two chairs and a sofa create a straightforward base for a stay near the water.

The kitchen sits towards the rear of the cottage and includes an oven, hob, microwave, small fridge/freezer, dishwasher and coffee machine, with a stained-glass window separating it from the lounge. A conservatory leads off the kitchen and doubles as a dining space, with the washing machine housed there too. Upstairs, the king-size bedroom and the bathroom, which has a large shower and WC, occupy the first floor, while two further small double bedrooms are on the second floor, one of them with sea views.

Outside, an enclosed patio to the rear has a table and chairs for guests, and parking is provided for one car. Wi-Fi is included, as are bed linen and towels. The property sleeps four.

Brixham is built on a steep hill, and many streets and amenities are reached via steps, some of them steep, so this is worth bearing in mind when planning a stay. Narrow winding streets in parts of the town are unsuitable for cars. One dog is welcome, though additional charges may apply. Logs for the open fire are not included, though electric and heating costs are.
