The Old Smithy
Converted forge in Lynton with a mezzanine bedroom and log burner
The Old Smithy is a former forge in the centre of Lynton, with original oak beams and a high vaulted ceiling over the open-plan living area. A wide wooden staircase climbs to a minstrels' gallery, where a half loft once used to store iron has become a mezzanine bedroom with a king-size bed, open to the ceiling with a balustrade over the living room below. The cottage sleeps 5 across three bedrooms and one bathroom.
A double bedroom and a single bedroom with views over the town sit off the landing, sharing a bathroom with a shower over the bath. The living area centres on a woodburning stove, with comfortable sofas and a Smart TV nearby, and a breakfast bar and dining area sit alongside the fully equipped kitchen. There is no garden at this property.
The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. WiFi, a DVD player and a Humax Freeview box cover the living room, with a selection of DVDs, books and games provided. Electric central heating runs throughout, and a highchair, travel cot and stairgate are all available.
Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Parking is in a nearby public car park, and shops, pubs and restaurants are all within 0.1 miles, with the beach 0.8 miles off. Smoking is not permitted and the property cannot accept a Sunday changeover.
