The Farmhouse

The Farmhouse is one of three holiday homes on Burnville Farm, a working 250-acre farm near Lydford. Boots come off in the hall before the sitting room, with its traditional beams and a bright sun room off to one side, and the dining room's table beside the open fire is an old dough trough.

The house sleeps 9 across four bedrooms upstairs: a super-king-size double, a king-size double, a single and a family room with two bunks, served by a bathroom with a bath and a separate shower room. A cloakroom on the ground floor adds a second WC.

The kitchen is fitted with a microwave, fridge, tumble dryer, washing machine and dishwasher, and a Smart TV and phone line cover the living space alongside WiFi. A travel cot and highchair are available on request, and the enclosed garden, 20 yards from the house, has a lawn, trees, a stream and a barbecue. Guests can also swim in the shared seasonal outdoor swimming pool and use the farm's tennis court and games room, or wander the wider 250-acre farm and help out if they wish.

Off-road parking covers 4 cars. Three well-behaved dogs are welcome, with an additional charge for the second and third dog, and smoking is not permitted. The shared pool runs from late May to mid September each year. Golf and gliding can be arranged nearby, and Roadford Lake offers water sports a short drive away.
