Great Bidlake Manor

Great Bidlake Manor stands in open countryside a mile from Bridestowe, near Lydford, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Grade II* listed and dating from the 13th century, this manor house sleeps 12 across six en-suite bedrooms, five on the first floor and a sixth in the Tower.

Ground-floor rooms include a dining hall with a coat of arms, a library and sitting room each with an open fire, a music room with instruments, and a breakfast room with a wood burning stove off the main kitchen. A boot room and hall complete the ground floor, and caterers can be arranged for less formal dining.

Upstairs, the first-floor bedrooms come with fine linen and bathrobes, plus a games room and a small kitchen area on the same floor. Central heating, underfloor heating and the wood burning stove keep the house warm, and the kitchen has an induction hob, dishwasher and washing machine.

The grounds run to 13 acres of gardens, woods, ponds and paddocks, with space for croquet and a barbecue area with a chimenea. An outdoor table tennis table is provided, and two 7kW electric vehicle charging points are available, paid for via an app.

Off-road parking is provided for 15 cars, and up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Bookings can only start on a Friday or a Monday, check-in is from 4.30pm, and smoking is not permitted.
