The Dairy House - Highford Farm

This first-floor barn conversion forms part of a group of Grade II listed farm buildings near Higher Clovelly, close to Bideford on the North Devon coast. The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area has high vaulted ceilings and a stable door with views out towards the sea and Lundy island. The surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty gives easy access to the north Devon and Cornwall coastline, with sandy beaches around two miles away suited to body boarding and surfing, and shops and a pub within a mile.

The property sleeps four across two bedrooms, both on the same level. The king-size room has a double sofa bed suitable for children and its own en-suite shower room with WC, while the twin room comes with a television and DVD player. A separate bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC serves the rest of the accommodation.

The kitchen is equipped with an electric range-style oven and hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washer-dryer, and the lounge has a television alongside a wood burner-effect electric fire. Outside, across a courtyard, guests have use of an enclosed garden, with off-road allocated parking for two cars.

Up to three dogs are welcome by arrangement, with additional charges applying. A travel cot and highchair are available for younger guests, and internet access is provided throughout the stay. Nearby villages include Hartland, with its farmers' market and annual carnival, and Woolsery, home to a fish and chip shop and village pub. The seaside town of Bude offers further shops, restaurants and a leisure pool, while Hartland Abbey, Hartland Point and Lighthouse, and RHS Rosemoor Gardens are all within reach for day trips. Arrival is from 3pm and departure before 10am.
