Clovelly Lakes Moorhen Lodge Eighteen

This single-storey lodge sits beside one of five fishing lakes on a rural site at Higher Clovelly, near Bideford. Access is via three steps or a ramp up to a gated veranda, leading into an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, and a breakfast bar sits alongside a lounge with a Smart TV and DVD player.

The two bedrooms, both doubles, open off the lounge and share a shower room with a jet-spray shower and WC. A cot and highchair can be requested ahead of arrival, making the lodge workable for a family of four alongside a couple sharing the second room.

Double doors from the lounge lead onto a private balcony overlooking the lake, a good spot to watch the water after a day out. Fishing on the five lakes is included for guests staying at the site, and a charcoal barbecue is provided for outdoor cooking. Ample off-road parking is available, and Starlink satellite wi-fi covers the site, though a shared 7kW EV charging point at reception is billed separately, payable directly to the owner.

Two dogs are welcome, with additional charges applying. Check-in runs from 3pm and check-out is by 10am. The beach, a gastro pub and a village shop are a short drive away, useful for stocking up or an evening meal without cooking.
