Wonson barn conversion near Throwleigh, pub next door

The Bolthole is a converted barn in the small Dartmoor hamlet of Wonson, beside a pub, a lane's walk from Throwleigh. Light and airy inside, it sleeps 4 across two bedrooms.

The open-plan living space has a fitted kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with a wood burning stove beneath handsome original beams. Upstairs, the two super king-size bedrooms have vaulted ceilings, and one can be made up as a twin on request. The bathroom has a bath, a shower over the bath, a basin and a WC, with bathrobes and slippers provided.

The kitchen has a microwave, fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher, and there's a TV with DVD and WiFi. Underfloor heating and electric fires keep the cottage warm, and a cot and highchair are available on request.

Outside is a private enclosed garden with a table and chairs, and parking for one car at the front. No pets are allowed, and smoking is not permitted. Full weeks run Friday to Friday, with the pub directly opposite for evenings out.

Nearby Chagford has pubs, shops and an outdoor swimming pool, with the River Teign and Castle Drogo close by. Exeter is a further drive for a day out, and the south Devon beaches are around 20 miles away.
