Chilvery Farm Cottage

Chilvery Farm Cottage is a restored farm cottage in the hamlet of East Ash, a mile from Whiddon Down and a mile from Throwleigh in Dartmoor National Park. It sleeps 5 across three bedrooms and two bathrooms: a king-size room with an en-suite shower and basin, a double, and a single with a Velux window.

Downstairs, the open-plan living area has wooden beams and a large inglenook fireplace with an original bread oven, now housing a woodburner. The kitchen/diner is duck-egg coloured with a table and chairs, and there's a sitting room, sun room, utility room and a downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs, the family bathroom has a bath, handheld shower, basin and WC with a mosaic finish.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher, and there's a TV with Freeview and WiFi. Oil central heating and the woodburner, with a basket of logs provided, cover the cottage, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Outside is a small enclosed patio garden with furniture, though it isn't fully secure for dogs, with open fields beyond; guests also have access to a large wildlife garden and pond nearby. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, though not allowed upstairs or on the furniture. Off-road parking takes 2 cars only. Bookings of 7 nights must start on a Friday, and the shop is 2 miles away with the pub 1 mile.
