Syringa

Syringa is a three-bedroom holiday home in Beer, near Seaton, sleeping five guests with two dogs welcome. Two king-size double bedrooms and a bunk bedroom sit upstairs alongside the family bathroom, which has twin sinks and a shower over the bath. A downstairs WC is tucked away near the hall. Private parking for one car is provided on site, and an electric vehicle charger is available, paid via an app.

The ground-floor lounge has bay windows and a Smart TV, opening through to an open-plan kitchen and dining area with a breakfast bar, dining table and fully equipped kitchen including an electric oven and hob, fridge-freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Bi-fold doors lead to the rear paved courtyard, where a bistro set sits outside the garden room utility area, which houses a washing machine and dryer along with a desk workspace and Wi-Fi. Neighbours hold right of way across the patio to the side alley, worth noting when planning outdoor time.

Steps from the courtyard lead up to a tiered enclosed garden with a large table and chairs for outdoor dining. A highchair is stored under the stairs and a stairgate under the bunk bed, practical details that suit families with younger children. The bunk bedroom also has floor space set aside for games.

Beer's shingle beach is under half a mile away, and the village has a pub and shop within the same distance. The coastline in this area forms part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, with waymarked paths giving access to fossil-hunting walks directly from the area.
