Sunset Cottage - Brixham

This reverse-level cottage sits close to the town centre of Brixham, a working harbour town on the western side of Torbay where a fishing fleet still operates from the quayside. The property sleeps up to six across three bedrooms and is arranged over three floors, with the living space set on the first floor to make the most of the outlook over the harbour.

Guests enter up steps from road level to the ground floor, where a twin room and a bunk room are located alongside the main bathroom, which has a bath, separate shower cubicle and WC. Stairs climb to the first-floor lounge, kitchen and dining room, formerly part of a seafarer's cottage, with a second TV in the dining room. A further flight of steep, cottage-style stairs leads to the top-floor master bedroom, a double with en-suite wash basin and WC.

The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, a fridge with ice compartment, a dishwasher and a washing machine, and doors open onto a patio area. Outside is a steep terraced garden with a further decked seating area and a garden room where bikes can be stored securely. Wi-Fi is included throughout the stay, and a travel cot is provided for younger visitors.

One dog is accepted by prior arrangement, with additional charges, and dogs and children should be supervised in the terrace garden at all times. Off-road private parking for one car is available but reached from the rear of the property by a further set of steep steps. Given the internal and external stairs throughout the cottage, and Brixham's own steep streets, this property is unlikely to suit guests with mobility difficulties. Arrival is from 16:30 and departure by 10:00.
