Seabirds

Seabirds is a Grade II listed former fisherman's cottage in Appledore, near Westward Ho!, sleeping up to six guests across three bedrooms. The open-plan lounge and diner retains exposed stonework and a wood burner, alongside a Smart TV and a dining area with French doors opening onto the patio.

The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, coffee machine, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and a washer/dryer, covering most everyday cooking and laundry needs. A separate WC completes the ground floor. Upstairs, the king-size bedroom has its own TV and river views, the double bedroom looks out over the estuary, and the third room is a bunk bedroom suited to children. The single bathroom includes a slipper bath and a separate shower.

Outside, a patio area holds a charcoal barbecue and steps lead up to a lawn with garden furniture and views over the estuary towards the sea. The garden is enclosed, but there is a 25-30 foot drop onto rocks beyond the garden wall when the tide is out, and the wall itself is only 4-5 feet high, so small children should not be left unsupervised outside. Parking is on the roadside or at a nearby public car park, subject to availability, and local charges apply.

One dog is welcome at Seabirds, with additional charges possibly applying. Wi-Fi is included throughout, and a travel cot and highchair are provided for younger visitors. Pubs, restaurants and shops are within walking distance, making the cottage a practical base for exploring the estuary and coastline without relying on a car for evenings out.
