Scallop Cottage

Scallop Cottage stands in an elevated position on the west side of Torbay, within walking distance of the seafront, a pub and shops in Brixham. Several exterior steps lead up to the front door, opening into an open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner styled with retro touches. The lounge has a large sofa, armchairs, a TV and an open fire, along with views over the town's harbour, while a step up leads to the kitchen and dining area with a breakfast bar and table for family meals.

The kitchen is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave and fridge, and a separate covered utility area houses the washing machine and freezer. Upstairs on the first floor, one double bedroom has its own covered conservatory overlooking the garden, and a twin bedroom sits alongside it, with the shared bathroom offering a shower and WC on this level. The second-floor master double bedroom takes in views over the harbour and out towards the sea. The property sleeps up to six guests across its three bedrooms.

Outside, the rear garden is arranged as several terraced patio areas linked by steps, furnished with outdoor seating, with one section covered for shelter and drying laundry. Steep steps connect the different patio levels, so children should be supervised while outside. Parking for one car is provided to the side of the property on a steep incline, and additional on-street parking is available on a first-come basis. Brixham's narrow, winding streets are not suited to all vehicles, and some parts of the town involve steep hills.

Two dogs are welcome at Scallop Cottage, though additional charges may apply. Internet access is available, and towels are included in the stay. Anyone with specific access requirements is advised to check details before booking, given the steps both inside and around the property.
