Salty's Cottage

This 200-year-old cottage sits in a car-free part of Brixham, close to the working harbour and within easy walking distance of the town's shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. The ground floor opens into a lounge with a Smart TV and a working wood burner (logs not supplied), plus a dining table for four that extends if needed. A well-equipped kitchen sits to the rear.

Upstairs on the first floor is a double bedroom with an original feature fireplace and harbour views, alongside the family bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and WC. A further, steeper flight of cottage-style stairs leads to a top-floor room with a zip-and-link king-size bed, which can be made up as a twin on request, plus its own Smart TV and harbour views. A pull-out futon is also available in this room, though it does not increase the number of guests the cottage can sleep.

Outside, a rear courtyard is enclosed and furnished with a bistro set and a hanging egg chair, suited to alfresco meals or a quiet sit with views down towards the town. A free parking permit for the Marina Carpark is included with the stay, useful given the property's traffic-free setting directly on steps (a handrail is provided). Two dogs are welcome, with additional charges possibly applying.

Practical extras include a washing machine, a Tassimo coffee machine, a travel cot and a highchair for younger visitors, and board games and a Wii console for evenings in. Internet access is available at the property. The cottage sleeps four, making it suited to couples or small families travelling with children rather than larger groups.
