Reef Cottage

Reef Cottage sits directly on the water's edge where the rivers Torridge and Taw meet the estuary, accessed from a quiet narrow road. The ground floor holds a spacious kitchen/diner with a dining table seating six and a well-equipped kitchen featuring oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. French windows open from the kitchen onto a waterfront patio with garden furniture and a BBQ, along with a small stone hut for storing outdoor equipment.

The ground-floor bedroom is a super-king-size zip and link room, convertible to twin on request, served by a ground-floor bathroom with shower-over-bath and WC. The first-floor lounge makes the most of the estuary views and contains a coal-effect gas fire, smart TV, DAB radio, Bluetooth and CD player. A king-size bedroom on the same floor benefits from an en-suite shower and WC. Both bedrooms include hairdryers.

Appledore village is a short walk away, with shops, pubs, cafes and a quay from which boat trips depart and a ferry runs across to Instow beach. Bideford's independent boutiques and antiques shops are a few miles downriver. The seaside town of Westward Ho!, with a large sandy beach, lies two miles from the property. Pay-and-display parking is available locally.

The cottage sleeps 4 and welcomes up to 2 dogs, with additional charges that may apply. A highchair is provided and guests may bring their own travel cot. Arrival is from 15:00 and departure by 10:00.
