Prospect House

This period house in Appledore has been fully refurbished while keeping its original character, and offers accommodation over three floors for groups of up to nine. The building carries a date-plaque of 1878, though its history stretches further back as a former coaching inn.

On the ground floor, a lounge with a leather Chesterfield corner sofa and a gas fire sits opposite an open-plan dining room and snug with an open fire, corner sofa and Smart TV. The kitchen is fitted with an induction hob, double oven and a traditional Aga, which is switched off over summer but can be prepared on request. An island doubles as a breakfast bar, and a utility room holds the washing machine, tumble dryer and an American-style fridge freezer. A separate WC sits off the utility room.

Upstairs on the first floor are four bedrooms: a super-king with en-suite shower room, a second super-king that can be arranged as a twin at the time of booking, a double and a single, served by a family bathroom with bath and separate shower. A further super-king bedroom occupies the second floor in the eaves, with Velux windows and its own en-suite shower room, bringing the total to three bathrooms.

Outside, steps from the kitchen lead to an enclosed, walled garden with lawn, lighting, garden furniture, a shed and a charcoal barbecue, plus a dog wash with hot and cold water for muddy paws after coastal walks. Up to four dogs can stay, with additional charges applying. Parking is on-street subject to availability, with public car parks nearby where charges apply. Internet access is available at the property.
