Popham House

This house sits in Appledore, near Westward Ho, and arranges its accommodation over three floors for up to eight guests. An entrance hall with understairs storage leads into an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with tiled floors, exposed features and a wood-burning stove, an initial basket of logs included. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, built-in microwave, Nespresso machine and fridge/freezer, with a huge dining table for family meals.

Bedrooms are split across the upper two floors. The first floor holds a king-size room and a twin room, the latter with its own washbasin, alongside a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. A further staircase leads to the top floor, where a spacious twin room with high ceilings and exposed beams sits alongside the master bedroom, which has a king-size four-poster bed and an open en-suite with a walk-in shower. Downstairs, off the dining area beneath a glazed roof, there is a wet room with shower and WC, handy for rinsing off after the beach.

There is no private garden, but a shared cobbled courtyard at the front leads through to the quayside. A washing machine is housed in a first-floor utility cupboard, and a travel cot and highchair are available for younger visitors. Two dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply.

Parking is on-street and subject to availability, with public car parks at either end of the quayside charging a fee; there is no dedicated parking space with the property. Internet access is provided, and pubs, shops and restaurants are within walking distance of the house.
