Pilchard Cottage

Pilchard Cottage is a renovated 220-year-old Georgian cob cottage in Dawlish, close to the seafront, shops and cafes. Bookings run Saturday to Saturday only, and the cottage sleeps 5 across two bedrooms upstairs, with a single ground-floor bathroom.

The sitting room has a wood-burning stove and a 42-inch Smart TV, reached through the porch via a step. A separate dining room seats up to six and has a second TV usable as a workspace. Upstairs, the front bedroom has a king-size bed, and the back bedroom has a king-size bed plus a single bed, both reached via further steps. The ground-floor bathroom has a spa bath, a thermostatic rainfall shower.

The galley kitchen has an electric hob, fan-assisted oven, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge freezer, microwave and coffee machine. WiFi and fast fibre broadband cover the property, and fuel and power are included in the rent. A fully enclosed rear courtyard, around 20 square metres with no grass, has a metal patio set, a parasol and a warm-water outdoor dog shower. Parking is on the road on a first-come basis, though a complimentary permit covers nearby long-stay car parks in Dawlish and Dawlish Warren.

Two dogs are welcome, with tiled flooring throughout for easy cleaning, and dog towels, shampoo and bowls provided. The shop and pub are 0.1 miles away and the beach is 0.4 miles. Smoking is not permitted inside.
