Owls Nest Lodge

Owls Nest Lodge is a single-storey retreat near South Molton, built for couples rather than families - children are not permitted at this property. A woodburning stove anchors the open-plan living space, with a starter pack of fuel included for the first evening.

The king-size bedroom has its own en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC, and sits alongside an open-plan kitchen, dining area and sitting area within the single-storey layout. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster for straightforward self-catering, and a Smart TV and WiFi cover the evenings.

Outside, a decking area holds a jacuzzi bath and furniture, a spot to sit out in the fresh Devon air. An additional sofa bed sleeping up to two more guests can be added in the living space for a further charge, on top of the two who stay in the king-size room.

Off-road parking is provided for one car. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, though an extra charge applies per dog, and smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property. The shop and pub are about 2.3 miles away, and electric central heating and a good housekeeping bond both apply, alongside fuel, power, bed linen and towels included in the rent.

Nearby South Molton has a historic pannier market and a range of independent shops for local produce and crafts. Exmoor National Park is within driving distance for moorland walks and wildlife spotting, and Barnstaple offers riverside walks along the River Taw and the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon.
