Orchard Cottage

Orchard Cottage stands in the village of Whimple, near Aylesbeare, with a wood burning stove and flagstone floors in the ground-floor lounge, kitchen and dining area. Glazed doors open from the living space onto a private patio and garden. It sleeps 4 across two first-floor bedrooms, a double and a twin, sharing one bathroom with a bath, shower, WC and washbasin. The property may not suit anyone with limited mobility.

The kitchen has an electric cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave, and a separate washing machine is provided. TV with DVD player and WiFi cover the sitting area, and a cot, highchair and stairgate are available on request. Night storage heating and the wood burning stove keep the cottage warm, with a supplement added to bookings starting between 16 September and 27 May.

Outside, the lawned garden has a patio area and a barbecue, overlooking countryside where the owners' Shetland sheep graze in the adjacent field. Off-road parking is provided for two cars.

Orchard Cottage welcomes two well-behaved dogs over 12 months old, and smoking is not permitted. The nearest pub is around half a mile away and the shop about 1.5 miles, with bed linen and towels included in the rent.
