Single-storey woodland cottage near Tavistock for two dogs

Miners Dry is a single-storey cottage secluded within two acres of National Heritage Site woodland about a mile from Gulworthy, near Tavistock. Converted from the building where miners once dried their clothes, the open-plan living space has beams and a wood burning stove in the inglenook, with the en-suite double bedroom leading off it.

The en-suite has a shower, WC and basin, and the kitchen area has a microwave, fridge and washer-dryer, plus a TV with DVD. Fuel and power are included in the rent, along with bed linen and towels, and heating comes from night storage heaters backed by the wood burning stove.

Off-road parking is provided for two cars, and the garden is a spot for outdoor suppers, with deer and nightjar sometimes seen nearby. The Tamar Trails run past the door, with a map provided for walking or cycling, and canoe trips run on the nearby River Tamar. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, and the cottage is no smoking.

This property does not accept children, and mobile phone coverage here is limited. The National Trust houses at Cotehele and Buckland Abbey, along with Morwellham Quay, are all within reach, and a pub is under a mile away.
