Marquis House

Marquis House stands near Tavistock in Devon, offering generous accommodation for up to eight guests across four upstairs bedrooms. Three of the rooms are king-size, while the fourth is a twin fitted with a zip-and-link bed that can be converted to a super king on request at the time of booking. Two bathrooms serve the bedrooms, one with a bath and separate shower alongside a WC, the other with a walk-in shower and WC, and a further WC sits downstairs.

Downstairs, the layout spreads across three separate living spaces: a conservatory with sofa and armchairs looking onto the garden, a main lounge with a Smart TV and an open fire for cooler evenings, and a snug for reading or games. The open-plan kitchen and diner is equipped with an electric range oven, gas hobs, a Ninja air fryer, a dishwasher and a washing machine, while a formal dining room provides a separate space for evening meals. A utility and boot room completes the ground floor.

Outside, guests have use of a private heated indoor swimming pool, accessed from the rear garden. That rear garden is enclosed and set on split levels, with a lawn, a fenced pond, outdoor seating and a charcoal barbecue for al fresco dining. A larger, unenclosed tiered lawn lies to the front of the property, bordered by mature trees and shrubs. Off-road parking is available for up to four cars.

Two dogs are welcome at Marquis House, though additional charges may apply. A travel cot and highchair can be provided on request, with the travel cot convertible into an infant bed for children up to around six or seven years old. A shop and pub are within a mile of the property. Arrival is from 16:30 and departure is by 10:00.
